HISTORY OF VALENTINES DAY- A tradition of love?

There are so many gifts of love given on the February Love Day, and so many ways of expressing love and kindness towards mates, friends, teachers and love partners all over the world. This is another profitable day for most retailers but like most common holidays and celebrations, there is a startling education from historical records.

Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate romance and love and kissy-face fealty. But the origins of this festival of candy and cupids are actually dark, bloody — and a bit muddled.

A drawing depicts the death of St. Valentine — one of them, anyway. The Romans executed two men by that name on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D.Hulton Archive/Getty Images

Though no one has pinpointed the exact origin of the holiday, one good place to start is ancient Rome, where men hit on women by, well, hitting them.

NOTE: That last segment is open to further online research if you are still curious. My apologies for tainting a special day in the eyes of many.

“I promise that I will always create love treasures with the most pure of a Christian heart as I can honestly proclaim to do. I have created thousands of unique Love Gifts for my wonderful clients and always will continue to do so.

Even though I do not practice any holidays or events that are non-Christian, according to Jehovah’s Holy words in the bible, I do respect others privacy and beliefs, and respectfully love to create Love Gifts and Treasures at any time.” BHelin
