Origin

Thousands of years ago my Tsimshian ancestors developed an intricate life style that embodied a political, social and creative system. Like most aboriginal races around the world this system maintained a balanced relationship with Mother Earth, contrary to histories tales of savagery and cannabolism. Aboriginal people practiced and protected their traditions and respected what they had as treasured gifts from the Creator, to pass on to their future generations.

My Tsimshian family history impressively passes on an intricate art form that beautifully represents people transformed into mythological creatures, and teaches unity with creation, through seeing the world through the eyes of the animals. Respect of these creatures was practiced through rituals and stories that were displayed through the art designed on possessions, buildings, canoes, territorial markings, ceremonial customs and even body tattoos.
